The examples above
are those of icons that are single figures, half-stature
(from head to waist). Icons of full stature figures (head to
foot) may also be ordered. Prices of full stature figures
differ in price from figures of half stature. .
In icons without gold-leaf, the halo is painted in
yellow/ochre and the background is painted in a blue color.
The shade of blue may vary.
The gold-leaf is 23k. Icons are painted on grade A quality
press-board to which has been first applied several coats of
gesso. After sanded to a smooth finish, the icon is drawn and
painted. The icon is set aside for several days and carefully
examined for errors. Finally, it is varnished and left to
dry.
Also available are festal icons. Family icons can be
ordered (patron saint of each member of your family will be
depicted in the icon). Icons for weddings and baptisms are
also provided.
There are additional charges for icons with multiple
figures and intricate details. Also, Christ with an open
gospel with the Scripture verse; or a saint holding an open
scroll or if a dedication is requested, etc.
Half (50%) of the payment is required upon ordering and
the other half (50%) of payment will be due on the arrival of
your order, plus shipping and handling costs. Completion and
arrival of your order is approximate.
